Brandon "Brand1" Dorsey
Brandon Dorsey, also known commonly as Brand1, is a 34 year old, Chicago-based, multi-medium artist that focuses his creative ventures through a variety of crafts. When it comes to approach, Brandon focuses on the spontaneity and organic nature of idea, usually found through the city around him, whether it is the signs he passes daily, the conversations he passes, or the way the city breathes as he is cycling through it’s veins.
An artist of nearly 20 years, the mindset he choses to portray as an artist is one of “Well, if I want to create until I’m a pile of ash, and I do, then I better have some variety in crafts, huh?”, as they work together to create something not only new, but symbiotic. Whether it be dancing on stage with well-known DJ’s at festivals, painting murals throughout the city, golf-carting his way throughout festivals building an experience for the public, or creating a house in a bar that someone can reminisce on the cartoons from their childhood with a beer in hand, he is no stranger to testing himself and the limits and outlines of the projects and processes around him.
Brandon represents a collective by the name of “Circle Theory”, a collective of all forms of artists throughout the world.
For the rest of 2024 he hopes to continue to build and explore the range of what he can create while learning how to test what can be created.
